Good News!
Benson is HOME!!! HOORAY! Mind you, he is on 6 medications and still has Pancreatitis but we picked him up yesterday and he was SO happy to see us. He had a little pep in his step and is still in some discomfort but he is ALIVE!! We are so happy and want to sincerely thank everyone for their warm thoughts and prayers. Benson still has life-endangering medical conditions but for now he seems to be hanging on. We think he pulled through so he can see his Father again…
On that note, Dad is doing a little better, too. His fever has dissipated and he was able to get out of ICU and onto the skilled nursing unit floor this weekend. He will start physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy this week sometime and is not expected to have to undergo anymore operations. THANK GOD.
Thank you everyone so much again for your purrayers. We are firm believers in the power of prayer and think that’s what got us through this. We love you all and are so lucky to have such wonderful bloggie friends like you. We plan to stop by everyone’s blog this week to leave a more personal note of thanks.

That is great news. Any good news is great news when everything is on the edge, right!?
Even Oscar my cat has perked up a little. For the past week he has only wanted to eat once a day, but for the past two days he has eaten both breakfast and supper.
It’s nice to have a break from the worry, no matter how short.
We were so delighted to read this post! How wonderful that Benson is home and your father is out of the ICU! We will continue t send purrs and gentle woofs your way, and hope that both of them will get better and better.

We are happy to read that things are looking up a bit for all of you. Pancreatitis is horrible and must be monitored so closely. I lost my 3 year old GSD, Starr, in less than 24 hours to an acute attack. That was over 5 years ago and to this day my heart aches for her.

I am so relieved to hear that you finally have some good news. I am sure it did your heart good to have two great blessings in one day. I know Benson and Dad are not out of the woods yet, but it’s always nice to be able to celebrate the small blessings.

We’re so happy that Benson is home again with you. He’ll do much better at home. Pancreatitis is nasty, but you can survive it. Papa had it when he was 21. Doctors told him he almost died from it. He did what the doctors told him & the pancreas healed so he didn’t need daily meds for the rest of his life. Poor Benson might need the meds forever with having his other problems. We’re still praying for your Dad too. Hope he continues to improve.
We’re happy you like having a koi named after you, there are 2 of you, the other is Benson of the 4 B’s.
