We had a fun weekend! Here are some pictures of a couple things we did…

First, Benson got a really big stick to chew on, it was longer than he is! BOL!

While he was chewing his stick, Gibson was getting a bath outside in the fresh air. He got loose at one point and started roaching around in the grass all over the place so then Mom had to wash him all over again! BOL again! Then she had to spray the brand new sod to get the soap out of it, too! Whoops!

After our stick chewing and baths we lazed around inside the house and played with our toys.

We are sad to see summer go but we love fall because it’s such nice weather for taking long walks through the park. Plus there’s lots of storms so there’s always lots of sticks around. What are your favorite summer activities? We’d love to hear about them!

We had a fun weekend really. Lots of playing, snoozing and visiting makes us all happy campers.

First, our feline kin got busy in the woods in the backyard, scratching away. (This is one of his favorite activities, he runs from tree to tree as fast as a lighting bolt and climbs up them and then jumps down to run to the next one. It’s rather entertaining.)

Finally he settled down and wanted to take a nap, right on top of the grill! What a silly cat he is!

Then we dogs had a visit from our favorite cousin, Henry the Basset Hound. Here he is talking away to everyone who will listen (he is hardly ever quiet):

Then we decided to show Henry how to properly roach around in the yard (it didn’t work):

This is how we dogs spent our weekend…

It was the dog day afternoons of summer this past weekend for us Golden Retrievers. Too hot to even go squirrel and bunny chasing on a walk, and too hot to even laze around outside on the deck…

We know what our friend Rusty did over the weekend; he started this awesome Squirrel Patrol club. Anydog is invited to join so you should go and visit Chasing Squirrels with Rusty to find out how. We signed up already! It may have been too hot to chase those pests this past weekend but we are always on high-alert, even inside!

Tell us what you did this weekend. Or tell us what you plan to do for Labor Day weekend. I think we are going to get to go down to Lake Erie for a walk/swim at the beach! Hooray! Plus Labor Day = barbeque which means we’ll be sneaking some delicious table scraps from unsuspecting family members! Hooray again!

I think I might have shown this before but it’s just too cute to not feature by itself. This is my favorite picture of my one Golden Retriever, Benson.

Okay, so these are my dishwasher duty dogs. Every night after dinner they help out with the pre-wash cycle. (Don’t worry — all the bad stuff is off the plates… :))

For the sake of keeping us all together and making new friends in the pet blogosphere I have started talking about my favorite pet blogs once a week. This week’s wonderful pet blog is a dog blog. It’s called A Dog’s Life, the Real Story.

Our Golden Retriever friend Mogley is the author/blogger over there. Mogley sure is a lucky dog. He gets to have foster brothers and sisters to play with all the time because his humans are such wonderful people. They are so wonderful that they take in foster Golden Retrievers from Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (funny that the acronym is “GRRR!” BOL!)

Mogley always has so much fun with the other dogs and he loves to play. He loves to play more than any other dog we have ever come to know. Mogley’s humans often take Mogley & Co. to the parks and trails out there in beautious Colorado where they find all kinds of streams, lakes, ponds and swamps to gallup around in. Lucky duck! The pictures of such pre-meditated swamp swimmings (often done without human’s permission) are hilarious! We always get a great BOL when we see them and so does our human! She says it is so typical of us Golden Retrievers to take unsupervised swims before our humans know what we are getting into. Mogley also likes to run through the sprinkler!

From Mogley’s blog:

My Humans leave the key board of the computer on the fireplace hearth so I can write my own blog and tell you about the daily life of a Golden Retriever. I am a foster dog, living with a family that provided me a home when I was homeless. A poodle once said that golden retrievers can’t spell, but poodles can’t run spell check! Read the first blog, it was written by a human, but it gives you my history.”

Although Mogley says that he is a foster dog, we suspect that he is in his forever home.

We encourage everyone to go and check out A Dog’s Life, the Real Story, because it’s real true! We Goldens live like Kings (as do most of the dogs we have met in the pet blogosphere!). We visit Mogley on a daily basis to see what he is up to. His life is SO exciting!
