Purina and America’s Pet Debate… Are We a Cat or Dog Nation?

Are you a cat person or are you a dog person?

Or are you an all-around, undecided, lover of all four-legged beings Animaniac like me?

Well regardless, Purina is going to tell us if we are a cat nation or a dog nation, and in the process, they’re helping America’s veterans. With an awesome, clever new program called “America’s Pet Debate,” which runs through November 8th, animal lovers can vote for their favorite pet at www.americaspetdebate.com once daily and officially declare the US a nation of cat or dog lovers.

What a cool idea, right? I personally can’t wait to see the results! You guys have probably already seen it on Twitter or Facebook but I wanted to officially tell you about it because it’s a really generous community-giving-oriented program, one of many that Purina does.

Anyhow, Purina will proudly declare the results on November 9th and we will officially find out if we are indeed a nation of doggie-devotees or kitty-cat-caterers instead.

For every vote, Purina will donate $1, up to $100,000, to Pet Partners’ Veteran Programs. The donation will help fund Pet Partners pet therapy teams for U.S. veterans by providing the mental, physical and emotional support of cats and dogs through animal-assisted therapy. According to Purina, there are more than 22.7 million veterans in America today.
FYI: The current national vote tally is 54% for Team Cat and 45% for Team Dog with a total of 47,923 votes!

You can put in your two cents about America’s Pet Debate on Facebook.com/americaspetdebate.com, Twitter (@petdebate) and Instagram using hashtags #VoteCat, #VoteDog and #PetDebate. The discussion going on is interesting to say the least and you’ll love the pictures and other fun stuff Purina is doing online for this event.
So I highly encourage you to get out there and vote! And don’t forget to vote daily to help America’s military veterans experience the joys of furry friends!
