Recently I called my local city of South Jordan to see if they could pick up my aging dog. He is ready to go and because he is from a large breed my Vet told me to contact the local animal control because they would provide pickups. The animal control officer stated due to one officer at the facility this week, he would be put in a chamber. A chamber?? I didn’t know South Jordan City had a Chamber. Or would they be taking him to West Valley? Either way I was upset to find out the old “Chamber” still exists. I hope to find if one if these inhumane chambers exists in our city.
(It shouldn’t exist in any city). If so, I too would like to start a petition to close it down. South Jordan just spent a huge amount of money on building a new Shelter and I would be greatly disappointed if a chamber does truly exist. If anyone else knows of any info. Please post. I am doing this on behalf of my dog who I have decided to take to the Humane society to have him put to sleep. Yes, with the “shot.”

Thank you so very much Jaimie and your post was very moving. One can only pray that those towns will see the cruelty involved with that from of euthanasia. We may have to start flooding the e-mail boxes of some media stations in their area. Whatever it takes, we will do it. Thank you so much again and God Bless.

We were glad to see this update posted and we put up a post linking to it. We hope someone sees reason here and they change their mind about using a gas chamber at the shelter.
