Pet Emergency Pocket Guide: Pet Product of the Week

We were recently sent a sample of Informed Publishing’s Pet Emergency Pocket Guide, a quick flip-through reference book for information that makes caring for pets easy.

According to the company’s literature, it’s “a practical resource that helps pet owners plan ahead and locate care for their pets in the event of an injury, illness or emergency.”

guideWe flipped through this handy-dandy pocket-sized guide (3″ x 5″), and there is a TON of good information in there, it’s amazing. Everything from first aid, to emergency response, to a page for your pet’s medical history. There’s also a glossary of terms of signs and conditions in dogs and cats. This is genius! We give it four paws up and think that every pet owner should have this convenient guide handy. It could be an essential tool in caring for your pets.

Key topics include:

  • “How To” first aid, including CPR and Heimlich
  • General care, including handling, grooming, muzzling & transporting
  • The glossary of signs and conditions
  • Taking care of a sick pet, and more serious conditions
  • How to create a pet emergency kit
  • List of toxic foods
  • Traveling with your pet section, including a travel kit
  • Pet safety; preparing for natural disasters
  • Info on sheltering
  • Evacuating pets and how to create a shelter/evac kit

The Pet Emergency Pocket Guide retails for $16.95, a great price for this wealth of information. You can also download it as a PDF for $9.95 at informedguides.com.
