Not So Fun Friday…
**Just for good measure, I just happened upon these:
Well today is not a fun day for me but just for good measure, I happened upon the above cartoon. Yesterday I was laid off from my job at American Greetings Interactive, the former sponsor of this blog. They “eliminated my position as a Copywriter.”
This blog, my favorite project since I began the job, is now all mine, the silver lining in the deal if you ask me. 
I do not have any funnies to report today as all my cartoons that I usually post were in my work email account. I ask all my bloggie friends to keep praying for me that I will find a new job soon and not just be a stastistic lining up for unemployment. I am totally devastated as this came out of left field, no warning, no two week notice, nothing. I am a total wreck.
A few things will change now that AGI is not sponsoring the blog. First of all, I will putting ads up on the blog to make some money, and secondly, I will be holding contests on a less frequent basis now as I don’t have the funds to buy all the prize goodies myself.
I hope that all my readers will please stand behind me in the changes that will come to this blog in the next few weeks. I will also be removing the Contests page as I just don’t have the money to fund the Contests page on its own, but I will still be holding posted contests every other month, mostly photo contests.
I hope to draw support and prayers from all of my close blogging friends during this time, and will now be able to spend more time visiting you all!

I am so sorry to hear about you getting laid off. And to have it come out of the blue, with no warning, awful! I pray that you will find an even better job very soon. We will definitely be standing behind all the changes that will come for you and your blog.

Jamie, I know how you feel. This happened to me 10 years ago. When one door closes another always opens. You will be working again.

We are so sorry to hear of this, Jaime. Hallmark just announced there will be a huge change there too by the end of the year. But as Ruby and Penny’s Mom said, one door closes, another opens. And as Khyra’s mom will tell you, things happen for a reason. We will put all our best prayers and thoughts together for you to find a new job soon. And know for sure, we will always be here as your friends.

Jaime, we’re so sorry to hear your lost your job. Our mom says that this has been happening around her office a lot lately too (she’s been lucky to have kept her job so far). our home has went thru the job loss situation also. for us, it lasted 18 months. it was scary after we realized there was nothing out there in my husbands field. funny thing is i found this in a fortune cookie: instead of using the word “problem”, try using the word “opportunity”. to me it reminds me to look for that silver lining … to be positive. while he was out of work, i did not have to pay for any daycare and our daughter loved having daddy home with her. hubby did get hired by the state (great benefits!). we will be keeping you in our prayers. the kitties will be sending special purrs your way.

Wow, this is bittersweet. Horrible that American Greetings has the nerve to let go a brilliant mind like you, but great that they let you keep the blog which you have worked so hard to make us all love dearly. Ouch! So sorry to read this news. Been offline for a week with no computer. Now that the blog is yours, you can make it into whatever you want. And if you find any good way to make money, could you let us know. We were looking hard until our

So sorry to hear you were laid off. The economy and level of unemployment is not good. We’ve been affected, too. It’s brought many changes, and financial strain to our lives. I hold out hope it’ll get better, and know that somehow we’ll get by, until it does.
Sorry to hear of this Jaime but you are an awesome and gifted writer and you will land on your feet. That old saying “when one door closes….” is so true. This is definitely AG’s loss. You will be successful no matter where you land. Keep your chin up and a good attitude cause that’s who you are.
This is TOTALLY AG’s loss Jaime. You are brilliant and they made a HUGE mistake. Do they not realize how valuable this blog is? Im glad you are going to make it a “money making machine!!!!” You go girl! Dont let it get you down, millions are in your same position because of stupid companies like AG.
