It was the dog day afternoons of summer this past weekend for us Golden Retrievers. Too hot to even go squirrel and bunny chasing on a walk, and too hot to even laze around outside on the deck…
We know what our friend Rusty did over the weekend; he started this awesome Squirrel Patrol club. Anydog is invited to join so you should go and visit Chasing Squirrels with Rusty to find out how. We signed up already! It may have been too hot to chase those pests this past weekend but we are always on high-alert, even inside!
Tell us what you did this weekend. Or tell us what you plan to do for Labor Day weekend. I think we are going to get to go down to Lake Erie for a walk/swim at the beach! Hooray! Plus Labor Day = barbeque which means we’ll be sneaking some delicious table scraps from unsuspecting family members! Hooray again!

We got to go to the COTTAGE this weekend (your mom already knows about that) and we got to SWIM just like your cousins did!
) We also got to walk in the woods a whole bunch, and we got to go wading a whole bunch. And when we were tired we slept a whole bunch, but swimming was just the BEST.
Poor Ridge and Elsie had to stay home. Elsie has a tummy fully of puppies that are supposed to come out in about four weeks (that’s what our humans tell us), so Mom and Dad were afraid she might get hurt with all the excitement at the cottage. So Elsie stayed home, and our humans left Ridge home with her to keep her company.
So we pups (well, Kenya at 2 yo is starting to be a grown-up, but she’s still a pup at heart) got to go to the lake. It was FUN, FUN, FUN!
