Nicky Over The Rainbow Bridge
Saturday was a very tough day in my household. We had to say goodbye to our 19-year-old rescue housecat, Nickodemus. He was suffering from beginning stages of kidney and renal failure and had been in poor condition (with his kidneys) for months, but really went downhill Friday and Saturday. Obviously my family is devastated.
This cat has been with me since I was in 7th grade… he was so sweet, loved to eat fish, loved to snuggle into warm spots, and was my Mom’s best friend for years and supported her through all of life’s trials and tribulations. We used to call him Pops since he was so old. Nicky was a wild cat when we found him, 7 weeks old, and by wild I don’t mean crazy. I mean, running around in the wild and had never seen a human or the inside of a warm house before. It took months for him to acclimate.

Nickodemus is now over the Rainbow Bridge after a heart-wrenching decision made at the Emergency Vet Saturday afternoon.
Please dear friends, say a prayer for our family and our sweet little orangie, Nickodemus.
I am so sorry Nickodemus had to go to the Bridge. It sounds like he had a wonderful life with your family. My sincerest condolences and soft purrs to you.

We iz sads and glads… sads dat Nicky left u n glads him iz not in pain now. Weze lost our 19 yr old Spunky Boo Bear last year. He was Mom’s furry fighter and hims luv kept hur going for nearly 20 yearz. Weze miss him but knohs him is waiting fur us… just like Nicky is waitin fur you.
Sumtimes kitty babies cant tell u how much dey iz glad dats ur care fur dem. sumtimes dey is too wild n skerd… still dey iz glads dat u helped dem. Nicky got chance to calm down and lurn what iz waz likes to be luffed.
Sum kitties dont gets time… Mom found a feral baby dat hads bin hit by a car. Him waz in bads shape and hissed and tried to bite sum othur peeplez dat stopped to help.
Mom told dem dat she wood take care of him and dey left… Mom called Nana to bring da car and sum blankiez to wrap him in and she took a protective stand by da boy till Nana came. sumhow dis outside wild boy knew her was dehr to protekt him and him not hiss or growl at hur. Him jus panted and tried to breethe. Whn Nana got dehr in hur car, Mom got da blankie and wrapped him init and gots in da car. Poor baby was hurted and growled and tried da bite in da blankie. Dey tooks him to da mergency vets and him had lots of internal injuriez…
Nana took Mom back to hur car… and Mom went home to be wif us…Mom was just laying down to go sleepy and herd dis in hur head when dis poor baby was put to sleep… “I’m Free…” See dat kitty knew Mom waz tryin to help and hims soul said thank you afore going offur da bridge.
