Cutest Kitty of the Week

Posted on June 25th, 2008

It’s cutest kitten picture of the week time! This week’s photo is from the Webshots album of “ MD72.” This person has an entire album of cats and kittens and the kitten pictures in it are absolutely adorable. I mean, most kitten pictures ARE adorable if you are a cat-fanatic like I am, but these ones are really special.

I couldn’t resist this one for obvious reasons: they’re called ears. The kitten picture info from Webshots says that this cat is an Ocicat named Domingo. How cute! They should have called him Dumbo though :)

Check out the MD72 “Cats and Kittens” album for more pictures of this little guy and some other really sweet kitten photos. Or visit the Pets Category on Webshots.com. They have great stuff over there!

Take Your Dog to Work Day Pictures

Posted on June 25th, 2008

Henry was famous here at work last Friday on Take Your Dog to Work Day. He lived the life of a Copywriter for the day and loved it. We had a fun-filled day of getting lots of pets, eating lots of treats, perusing around the silent auction, entering the cutest pet photo contest, taking a big group photo, and oh yeah - actually working.

Here are some of the pictures I got of him. In this one he is sitting in the hallway with me:

In this one he is laying under my desk, all worn out from running around outside with other dogs…

And after a long day of fun and being spoiled, he lied down under my desk to take a nap. (This picture really shows his extra wide Bassett body. Yes, we are aware that he needs to go on a diet.)

And here he is by his water bowl, patiently waiting for another dog to walk down the hallway so he can sniff him up and down…

Here he is making some new friends outside:

The Cutest Pet Card Ever

Posted on June 24th, 2008

I just found the cutest pet card ever. Well it’s actually a pet eCard, but its musical! It plays “Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch” and is meant to be sent to a lover or love-interest.

I can’t get a thumbnail of it from the site unfortunately, but it’s SO worth watching. It has the most adorable animal pictures scrolling while the music is playing - all pictures of animals cuddling: penguins, cats, monkeys, puppies, and more.

Check it out here. Click on that link and then scroll until you see the card come up that says, “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch).” Click on the little arrow to play it. It’s the cutest pet card ever!

Dog Park Diary: The Social Round of Goody Beagle; a Book Review

Posted on June 23rd, 2008

For all of you dog-lovers out there who humanize your dog, this is the book for you.

I know most of us have “voices” for our dogs, and we’ve all given them little personality traits and thoughts from time to time. (For example, at our house we frequently discuss with our Golden Retriever, Benson whatever happens to be worrying him that day; he is a little worry-wart dog as made evident by the look in his eyes and his little cone-head look. Oftentimes we have conversations with him about what is worrying him - with one of us obviously being the dog’s voice. I know, we’re totally nuts).

Anyways, back to the book. Dog Park Diary: the Social Round of Goody Beagle is all about Goody’s life at the dog park. It’s a diary he kept of one of his more rousing weeks at his favorite place: the dog park.

I must say, this book is HILARIOUS. I was laughing out loud on the second page. It so poignantly brings to life what we all think and say and do for our dogs every day. We humanize them.

Goody teaches us all about proper dog park etiquette, namely about “sniff-butt,” every dog’s favorite activity. He tells us stories about the other dogs, some his friends, some not his friends. He teaches us all about Beagles, too.

There are so many things we humans don’t know our dogs are thinking: Goody will tell you all of them.

So if you’re looking for a FUN read and a belly laugh, pick up a copy of Dog Park Diary: the Social Round of Goody Beagle. It has some GREAT photography to accompany the story as well.

Take Your Dog to Work Day!

Posted on June 19th, 2008

Tomorrow, Friday, June 20 is National Take Your Dog to Work Day! Hooray! Can’t wait to participate in this one.

I’m bringing along Henry (aka Peanut) the sassy Bassett Hound I have referred to in previous posts. Hopefully he will refrain from his vocal antics for the day. He loves to moan, whine, bay and howl at things - especially other dogs. We’ll see how it goes…

For those of you taking part in the festivities (or not I guess), send this cute pet eCard to other revelers:

The ASPCA recently put up some helpful information on their site. Click to read Top 10 Office Etiquette Tips for Dogs.

Here is a picture of Henry - I entered him in a pet photo contest for my work so I hope he wins! All day tomorrow Henry will see what its like to be a professional Interactive Copywriter for the day!

Cutest Kitten Picture of the Week

Posted on June 12th, 2008

It’s time for the Cutest Kitten of the Week! This week’s picture comes from the Webshots album of Aba-Daba-Dolls. All this person’s kitten pictures are of Ragdolls (what a sweet breed). These two little guys look a little bit lost or confused. They are so big-eyed!

Indoor Kitties…

Posted on June 9th, 2008

It is HOT, HOT, HOT here in Cleveland! The last few days have brought a nasty heat wave to Ohio and most of the time the animals have been cooped up in the house. (I don’t like them being outside when it’s 95 degrees out).

Theodore and Sasha HATE being trapped inside. They grew up with free reign of the outdoors and I refuse to make them indoor cats because they love to play outside, chase mice, try to catch birds and butterflies, and climb trees.

So what’s a poor, bored kitty to do?

Sasha prefers to lounge around on the antique furniture (thank you very much for dusting), looking for something to spy on…

And then something catches her attention…

And then something in the other direction catches her attention…

Theodore, on the other hand, when not chasing Sasha or the other cat, eating (his favorite past time), or being a general menace to the household ( a la William of Mass Destruction) prefers to attack his cat scratching post with quite a panache…

(That bluish-looking bag in the picture is a “Crinkle Bag” made just for cats. One of the best inventions ever if your cat likes to attack things and jump on things that make noise. Makes a great pet-lover gift, too.)

What Dog Are You? A Book Review…

Posted on May 30th, 2008

Lori Lebda and Tami Bergeson have hit the nail on the head (in my case anyways) with What Dog Are You? Discovering Your Inner Pooch. This book, fresh from the printing press, lets the reader explore his/her traits, abilities and personality and associate them with a breed of dog.

Based on three quizzes, the “Pooch-onality,” Dapper Dogs,” and “Biscuits or Bones,” a number value is assigned to you. Each quiz results in a specific breed type and those three are your “puppy genetic makeup.”

Your overall score is your overall breed. I must say I was shocked when I read what breeds I was in the three quizzes because I had never heard of them: Basenji, American Foxhound, and Tibetan Spaniel. Overall I am a Dalmation and it’s remarkable how much the description of that type of breed fits my personality.

The book lumps us into categories of breed types after giving us our overall breed: Gems, Trend Setters, Private Eyes, and lots more. There are also many more surprises in here that I don’t want to write about because I don’t want to spoil it for you!

This book is wildly entertaining and was so dead-on about my personality that I couldn’t believe it! It’s really quite funny! It makes a perfect pet-lover’s gift, too!

Pick up a copy if you can. Otherwise, come back and visit this blog in a few weeks as I will be giving away copies in an upcoming contest!

Wags,

Jaime (the Dalmation)

I think I might have shown this before but it’s just too cute to not feature by itself. This is my favorite picture of my one Golden Retriever, Benson.

Cutest Kitty Day

Posted on May 29th, 2008

It’s time for the cute kitten of the week! (I love this time of week.) This guy looks like he is preparing to climb his human’s leg for a little treat or something. Perhaps he smells fish…?
